ECAP is available to high school juniors and seniors in the United States who reside and attend schools in one of these states: ME, NH, VT, MA, NY, CT, RI, MD, and NJ.
Qualified students may start in the Fall semester of their junior year, and participate through the Spring semester of their senior year (just prior to graduation), for a total of 21 months.
Students must have a GPA of 80 or equivalent; students seeking to enroll in 7-week compressed courses must have a minimum GPA of 90. GPA confirmation is part of the counselor consent form.
Parent and counselor consent forms for participation in the ECAP must be received as part of the application process.
Homeschooled students: a statement from a counselor, principal or staff representative from the local school administrative unit where the student resides that confirms academic abilities to be successful in ECAP, is required.
The program ends when a student either earns 21 credits prior to high school graduation or after the Spring semester prior to graduation.
